Research Intern
Green For All is seeking a research intern to assist in analyzing different sectors that make up the green economy. The research will help the organization identify potential job creation opportunities for low-income communities in each of the sectors, as well as opportunities through existing or new policies to advance the goals of the organization. The sectoral analysis will ultimately inform Green For All’s strategy to influence city, state and national policy around green job creation, as well as the strategy for innovative campaigns with local partners in cities across the country to help create and leverage clean energy opportunities.
Primary responsibilities include:
- Research different sectors in the green economy including identifying policies and programs to develop policy and program materials for statewide legislators, community groups, and policymakers.
- Support in responding to technical assistance requests from policymakers, community groups, and legislators.
- Support in researching and writing reports relating to the green collar economy.
Desired skills and qualifications include:
- Excellent research and writing skills.
- Strong oral communication skills.
- Attention to detail and well organized.
- Self-motivated, able to work with limited supervision.
- The ideal candidate must possess a Bachelor’s degree plus a minimum of 2 years related experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience in research/advocacy in one or more of the following areas: energy, environment, economic development, workforce development, and anti-poverty.
Location
This internship is based out of our office in Oakland, CA, but may involve some local and domestic travel.
Hours and Compensation
A minimum of 35 hours per week is required for 3 months. This is a volunteer intern position and is generally uncompensated, but stipends are available for highly qualified candidates with financial need. Student work-study may be available.
