Speechwriter
Position Title: Speechwriter
Reports To: Chief of Staff
Position Summary
The Green For All Speechwriter is primarily responsible for supporting the CEO’s public appearances and for finalizing speeches, essays and talking points as necessary.
Successful candidates will be values-driven, self-motivated, detail-oriented and resourceful and have experience in communications, politics, advocacy and organizing. They will be able to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment that requires adaptability to shifting priorities, a keen sense of urgency and a commitment to excellence. They will have experience in writing for the Web, for traditional media and for public presentation.
This position will be based in Washington, D.C.
Primary Responsibilities
Writing
- Write speeches, essays, opinion pieces, blog posts as needed.
- Maintain understanding of organizational priorities and leverage systems for ensuring consistency throughout organization.
Appearance Preparation
- Assess appearance expectations and organizational outcomes.
- Preparing speeches and presentations in concert with senior staff.
Other duties as needed and assigned.
Required Skills and Experience
- Significant experience working on strategic communications, public affairs, and/or advocacy efforts.
- Strong oral and written communications skills.
- Availability to work long hours; be available on nights and weekends as necessary.
- Experience writing for the Web, for traditional media and for presentation.
- Experience developing presentations in Microsoft Powerpoint.
- Organized and flexible.
- Experience at a non-profit public policy organization is a plus.

Start Date: As soon as possible.
Compensation: Commensurate with experience, Excellent benefits package.
