State Policy Intern
Green For All is seeking an intern to assist on state green collar jobs policies across the United States. Green For All supports and collaborates with community leaders and policymakers in the development and implementation of green jobs policies and programs in cities, counties, and states throughout the U.S. We also provide technical templates, policy/program guidance, and other resources to policymakers and community organizations building green economies at the state and local levels.
Primary responsibilities include:
- Support in responding to technical assistance requests from policymakers, community groups, and legislators.
- Research relevant policies and programs to develop policy and program materials for statewide legislators, community groups, and policymakers.
- Support in researching and writing reports relating to the green collar economy.
Desired skills and qualifications include:
- Excellent research and writing skills
- Strong oral communication skills
- Attention to detail and well organized
- Self-motivated, able to work with limited supervision
- The ideal candidate must possess a Bachelor’s degree plus a minimum of 2 years related experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience working in policy, preferably at a state level.
Location
This internship is based out of our office in Oakland, CA, but may involve some local and domestic travel.
Hours and Compensation
A minimum of 35 hours per week is required for 3 months. This is a volunteer position intern position and is generally uncompensated, but stipends are available for highly qualified candidates with financial need. Student work-study may be available.
