The Green Experience at Savannah State University
As a Green For All College Ambassador, I am often asked, "What is the Green Economy?" "What do you all do?" And my answer is always simple: We advocate for green jobs that will strengthen our economy and help us live longer!
Carbon Footprints, Nitrogen Secrets
The recognition that many communities, especially in low-income communities and people of color communities, are at specifically at risk to these environmental changes is now coming to the conversation that has previously focused on conservation and efforts such as recycling.
Making A Difference At Spelman College
The area in which we live is a food desert and residents are victims of environmental injustice; there are railroads surrounding the area on all ends and overall upkeep of the community is contemptible. Recognizing what kind of area we live in has made me all the more passionate about making a real difference.
Spelman College Students Honor Dr. King’s Legacy Through Service
Earlier today, Spelman College students fanned out across Atlanta to pay respect to the memory of Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. by honoring one of his best-known sayings: Anyone can be great – because anyone can serve.
Same Legacy, New Generation
We hope to create a lasting project that can help Howard University to generate its own revenue and food source. The true test of a people is being able to sustain themselves.
We Are Taking A Stand!
At the beginning of the school year, I was given the opportunity to become a Green For All College Ambassador, which I was proud to accept. I am excited to be an Ambassador for Green For All and to become a voice providing guidance to other students! My first few months as a College Ambassador have helped me realize how much improvement the world needs.
Letting My Light Shine
Most people are not as environmentally responsible as they could be largely because they simply aren’t aware of how their daily actions affect the world in a broader context. When people are aware - and are willing to change their behavior - they will consider the impact of their actions. My goal is to spark a light within as many people as I can.

This Is Our Time To Shine
My name is Courtney Strickland. I am a Green For All College Ambassador for ECSU. This is our time: our time to shine, our time to reach out and grab this opportunity.
Green For All Trains Newest College Ambassadors
Thirty college students last weekend trained to represent eco-equity firm Green For All as campus ambassadors for the next school year. Students from Historically Black Colleges and Universities around the country learned about environmental justice and climate change, and planned various eco-awareness campaigns for their respective universities.
Who is leading the Green Movement at HBCUs?
I can confidently say the green movement is fully underway at Historically Black Colleges and Universities (HBCUs)! This is a big deal because most HBCUs are located in communities disproportionately impacted by climate change and poverty. And in the past, HBCU students have been under-informed about these issues and have not been significantly engaged around developing solutions to economic and environmental crises.
How Will This Year's College Ambassadors Change the World?
Year two starts today. Tonight, in fact. Tonight, in DC, the second class of Green For All's College Ambassador program kicks off its weekend of trainings. The new class (which you can learn about here) will spend the next semester running trainings and projects to engage students on their campuses in learning about the green economy.
Summer School: It's over already? What a year!
My time as a Green for All College Ambassador has been a mind-blowing experience. It has changed my life and views in more ways than I could have ever imagined. I entered the program with little knowledge or practice, and now I possess a solid understanding of the Green Movement and its importance.
Summer School: Going Hard, Going Green
This spring has been a productive time for Ambassadors at Howard University. We have made great strides toward going green! First off, we established an Office of Sustainability that supports our green efforts. Then we worked closely with our recycling hauler and Office of Residence Life to help further our recycling program.
Summer School: A Beautiful Struggle
As all good things must come to an end, so does my Ambassadorship with Green For All. Am I crying? No! Because I know this is only the beginning.
Summer School: A Green Awakening
When I first applied to the Green For All College Ambassador program, I did not really know much about it. Honestly, it was my first time ever hearing about Green For All, and when I went to check out its website, the organization's mission statement barely registered with me. My goal was simply to build my resume, earn some cash, and learn a little about what it meant to be an "environmentalist". To my surprise, however, over the course of my Ambassadorship, my priorities would shift to become less self-seeking, and more focused on greater goals.

My New Pair Of Eyes
When I was selected to become a Green For All College Ambassador, I was a little skeptical on how I was going to make my campus greener. After talking with different administrators and expanding my networking circle, however, I learned that the campus was greener than I thought.
My Year as a Green For All College Ambassador
As the school year comes to a close, we asked our Green For All College Ambassadors to reflect on their year in the program and their experiences as young champions of the Green Economy.
An Egg Hatched and Ready to Fly
It may be hard for an egg to turn into a bird: it would be a jolly sight harder for it to learn to fly while remaining an egg. We are like eggs at present. And you cannot go on indefinitely being just an ordinary, decent egg. We must be hatched or go bad. – C. S. Lewis
