College Ambassador Program launches with leadership training at Morehouse College
On September 25-26, 2010, Green For All launched the first ever College Ambassador Training, gathering 20 exceptional student-leaders from Historical Black Colleges and Universities around the country to Morehouse College.
On September 25-26, 2010, Green For All launched the first ever College Ambassador Training, gathering 20 exceptional student-leaders from Historical Black Colleges and Universities around the country to Morehouse College. The students participated in discussions and learned from leaders in the civil rights movement, environmental justice, green economy sectors, local policy, and communications. By bringing bright young minds together to engage with experts and veterans in various fields, the Green For All College Ambassador Program aims to reframe the face of environmentalism and cultivate the next generation of green leaders.
During this electric weekend, the new College Ambassadors began a conversation about the rapidly growing Green Economy and how it can be leveraged to solve environmental and economic issues facing the Black community. Presenters included BET's Jeff Johnson, Director Felicia Davis from the United Negro College Fund's Going Green Initiative, Civil Rights leader and founding member of Student Non-Violent Coordinating Committee Lonnie King, Jr., and many other dynamic leaders from throughout the country.
