New report: People of color hurt worst by the Recession

Foreclosure. Unemployment. Loss of health care.  These hardships have been fixtures in American life during this recession.  But some of us have been hit harder than others, and it falls along racial lines, says a new report. 

The Applied Research Center just released Race and Recession: How Inequity Rigged the Economy and How to Change the Rules.

The report tells the stories of people of color who are disproportionately affected by the recession.  It uncovers root causes of long-term racial inequities that fed into the economic crisis.

And it proposes structural solutions, including investments in green-collar jobs, to change a system that threatens future generations.
