Urgent! Clean Air Under Attack
Tell EPA: We Need Strong Carbon Pollution Safeguards
People of color and low-income Americans tend to live closer to dirty power plants and have higher rates of asthma and pollution-related illnesses. They are also hit hardest by climate change–when disasters strike, people with the fewest resources have a harder time preparing, escaping, and recovering.
The carbon pollution standards proposed in the EPA’s Clean Power Plan would be a lifesaver for vulnerable communities.
I urge the EPA to enact strong protections against carbon pollution from power plants. Doing so will protect our neighborhoods, save millions of dollars in public health costs, and fight climate change. The EPA’s Clean Power Plan would also help spur the growth of clean energy industries–creating good jobs and opportunities for disadvantaged Americans.
