What is a clean energy economy? Proponents say it means that the U.S. would rely increasingly on renewable energy, such as wind and solar energy; install “smart-grid” infrastructure for efficient, cost-effective electricity distribution; and build refueling infrastructure for biofuels and other fuels such as hydrogen and natural gas, including battery storage for electric vehicles.
