Green For All extends a hand to small business

Small businesses have a key role to play in moving toward a “green” economy, but they could use a little help, according to Green For All.

Small businesses have a key role to play in moving toward a “green” economy, but they could use a little help, according to Green For All.

With that goal in mind, the Oakland-based green jobs advocacy organization in August 2009 rolled out an initiative to support small businesses while increasing their capacity to create green-collar jobs.

Funded by foundations and individual donors, the new Capital Access Program (CAP) includes an education program, a small business incubator and links to funding opportunities.

The incubator program, which began in early 2009 and connected 20 entrepreneurs with mentors, is expanding in November to reach more businesses in more cities, says Green For All CEO Phaedra Ellis-Lamkins.
