Wyclef Jean, the multi-platinum and Grammy award-winning artist, appeared at Saturday night's “Green the Block” launch party at Lux Lounge to push a campaign that aims to educate urban America in clean-energy opportunities.

But he came armed with another message, too.

Standing on top of the lounge’s bar, while singing his hit “We Trying to Stay Alive,” Wyclef paused and spoke directly to the members of Congress who swung by the party after the Congressional Black Caucus dinner at the nearby convention center.
