Preparing Young People for Success
Organizations such as Green for All, The Philadelphia Youth Network, The Corps Network, and Temple University's Building Information Skills Summer Program prepares underprivileged students with the skill set and the knowledge that is needed in today's workforce and college.
As the violence in the city increases positive initiatives are being done to put teens back to work. Congress member Chaka Fattah joins four organizations that helps Philadelphia teens learn new skills to get back into the work force.
"As
the nation struggles to pull itself out of a prolonged recession, it is
critical to encourage efforts that provide training and useful work for
young men and women, especially those in low-income and minority
communities,"said Rep. Fattah." The valuable programs of Philadelphia
Youth Network, the Corps Network, Green for All and Temple University
advance that goal in Philadelphia, with projects that improve our
community while putting young people to work."
