WASHINGTON - Congressman Charles Rangel praised Environmental Protection Agency Administrator Lisa Jackson for coming to his New York Congressional District Thursday morning to celebrate the 40th Anniversary of Earth Day at Riverside Valley Community Garden on 138th Street and 12th Avenue.
“It is truly an honor that President Obama’s top official on the environment will be sharing this important day with us,” Congressman Rangel said. “Although I am in Washington today working on bringing a healthier environment and 21st century green jobs to New York, I want Administrator Jackson to know that we are grateful for her leadership and her show of support of what our local government, organizations, and environmental activists are doing.”
