Information We Collect
When you use the Site, we may collect the following types of information:
- Information you provide - Much of the Site can be viewed without revealing personally identifiable information to us; however, you may be unable to access certain features of the Site and/or use certain Services without providing your personally identifiable information. When you use, sign up for, and/or access our general Services on the Site we ask you for personally identifiable information (“PII”), which may include your name, street address, telephone number, e-mail address, and organization name and phone. Use of certain features and/or Services of the Site may also require you to provide your PII.
- Log information - When you visit and use the Site or our Services, our servers automatically record information that your computer’s browser sends whenever you visit any website. These server logs may include information such as your web request, Internet Protocol address, browser type, browser language, the date and time of your request and one or more cookies that may uniquely identify your computer’s browser. In order to better serve our members, we periodically analyze web logs. This helps us understand traffic patterns and know if there are problems with our website. We may also use embedded images in emails to track open rates for our mailings, so that we can tell which mailings appeal most to Green For All members.
- User communications - When you send e-mail to Green For All, we may retain those communications in order to process your inquiries, respond to your requests and improve our Site.
At times the Site may ask you for PII relating to third parties. For example, you may have the opportunity to send certain content to a friend by entering that friend’s email address. If you choose to use one of these services, Green For All stores this information for the sole purpose of sending the one-time email.
Surveys or Petitions and Events
For petitions and surveys you’ve signed or completed on our Site, we treat your name, city, state, and comments as public information – for example, we may provide compilations of petitions, with your comments, to the President, legislators, or other U.S. elected officials. But, except as required by law or authorized by this Agreement, we will not disclose your street address, email address or phone number to another User, without your written permission. We may also make your comments, along with your first name, city, state, and country, available to the press and public online. Green For All reserves the right to use your personally identifiable information provided during the petition signing process, for all purposes set forth in this Agreement, including but not limited to for action requests, solicitations, or information alerts.
If you sign up to host, attend or find an event and/or sign or create any petition, then you have opted in to receive email correspondence from Green For All or our affiliated websites. In each email you receive, you will be told why you are receiving the email and how the sending party received your name. You will also have the option to opt out of and remove yourself from our mailing list at any time. To do so, use the relevant link in the email messages we send to you, or let us know here.
Sending Emails Via The Site
In certain cases, like when you host an event, we enable you to send individual e-mails to people who have signed up to attend your event. In such a case, your name will be disclosed to the recipient, by way of a secure communication tool (“email tool”), through our Site. Event hosts will not receive the personal email addresses or other personal information of event participants. If you add a message to this email, you are solely responsible for the specific message(s) you send using our email tool.
Sending Emails On Your Own
We encourage you to voluntarily share your email address with members of Green For All. If you do, however, you should be aware that Green For All does not guarantee the privacy of that information. Accordingly, you share your email address and other personal information at your own risk. If you have obtained an email address from this Site and wish to contact another person, please use your company manners and contact them only for the purposes outlined on the Site or Set forth herein.. Sorry, but if we discover that you are using third party information for another purpose that, in our opinion, does not support the goals of Green For All, we reserve the right to terminate your Membership with the Site.
Financial Donations or Purchases
If you choose to make a donation on the Site and/or purchase any product or Service, we will collect your credit card information and use it only for the authorized transaction through our secure online payment system. Green For All does not retain your credit card information. Green For All is comprised of not-for-profit public interest organizations.
From time to time, Green For All staff and volunteers conduct campaigns using the telephone. If you have provided your telephone number to us for a specific campaign, then you may be contacted by one of our staff or volunteer members. If you would like to be removed permanently from our phone list, please let us know here. Please allow 8-10 days for your information to be removed.
URLs contained in emails may contain an id that enables us to correctly identify the person who takes an action using a web page. We use these URLs to simplify the process of signing petitions and filling out surveys. We may occasionally present a shortened URL that references a longer URL that contains an id–we do this to simplify the display, to prevent links from becoming broken when copied, and to ensure compatibility with email programs that do not handle long URLs. When a shortened URL is displayed in an email, you will see the full URL in the browser’s address bar when you access the page.
You Own Your Information
You own your PII, and we have a license to use what you decide to share with us.
If you were referred to this website from an outside party, we reserve the right to share your PII with that referring party.

We have the expectation that the third parties with whom we may share your information use reasonably commercial efforts in maintaining the security of your information. Except as may be required by law or as otherwise set forth in this Agreement, we do not disclose data about individual members’ behavior to any other organization.
