Are you ready for green jobs right now? The Economic Recovery Package is our best chance to create green-collar jobs for everyday people. But we have to seize the moment. Go down to City Hall and ask your Mayor and City Council to show you their plan to implementing a green recovery for all.

- At a March 30 event hosted by Change SF, representatives from Green for All, the Ella Baker Center for Human Rights and other grassroots organizations opened up a dialogue about green jobs and federal stimulus spending with District 10 Supervisor Sophie Maxwell and Mayor Gavin Newsom’s director of climate protection initiatives, Wade Crowfoot. - Earlier today, our Field Organizer Julian McQueen sent out an email calling folks in the Green For All community to action. Some of you emailed back and said you were confused about what we were actually asking you to do, and why. Here are some quick answers.
- It's time for community action
- Between now and June, your Mayor and local officials must come up with a plan to secure and implement President Obama's Economic Recovery funds. Does your Mayor have a plan yet? Do you know what that plan is? This may be the most important opportunity you'll ever have to bring green-collar jobs to your community.
4/1/09 - Weatherization Assistance Program funding becomes available to states. Within 60 days of April 1st, each state must complete a plan, hold a public hearing about it's plan, and submit it to DOE for approval. At that point, funds will be made available locally. [more]
4/16/09 - Deadline for Assessing the Feasibility of Renewable Energy Development and Energy Efficiency Deployment on Tribal Lands. [more]
