Morehouse College
Morehouse College is a private, all-male, historically black college located in Atlanta, Georgia and is one of the three remaining traditional men's colleges in the United States.
In 1867, two years after the Civil War ended, Augusta Institute was established in the basement of Springfield Baptist Church in Augusta, Ga. Founded in 1787, Springfield Baptist is the oldest independent African American church in the United States. The school’s primary purpose was to prepare black men for the ministry and teaching. Today, Augusta Institute is Morehouse College, which is located on a 66-acre campus in Atlanta and enjoys an international reputation for producing leaders who have influenced national and world history including Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. and Julian Bond.
Steven Cornish
Steven Cornish is a senior at Morehouse College majoring in Economics. He is a native of Plainfield, New Jersey. He was former president of Students Endeavor For Enlightened Environmental Decision (SEEED). Steven had truly discovered his life passion in the green movement after joining SEEED in his freshman year and attending Power shift '09. Since, he has become a member of Morehouse's Sustainability Committee, member of Association for the Advancement of Sustainability in Higher Education, and a panelist for Keep It Wild: Post Copenhagen Forum. Also, he was given the chance to attend the 15th Conference of Parties (COP15), which consisted of 192 heads of state from around the world coming together to discuss how the world will fight global warming and move toward a more sustainable future. Here, he attended several workshops, lectures, expos, and build relationships with people who shared the same goal for a more sustainable future. Building on his previous experiences, Steven hopes to use his Green For All ambassadorship to spread and share his knowledge to his student body. He envisions a future where sustainability will be embraced by society from an economic, social, and national security standpoint.
Anthony Kalel Gause
Anthony Kalel Gause is an internationally recognized advocate for world peace whose music and message have been an inspiration to audiences around the world. As a student, Kalel is currently a junior Religion major at Morehouse College. Additionally, he actively serves in several organizations: The Martin Luther King Jr. International Chapel Assistants, The Interfaith Youth Core, Life Changers International Church ministries and he was appointed Peace Ambassador for the Hiroshima Peace Park in Japan. Kalel's love for God and for others have caused him to become apart of the Green Movement and it has become a focal point of his life to find realistic and tangible solutions to address the challenges of sustainability.
