Jainaba Fye is a rising sophomore at Spelman College where she is studying International Studies and Economics. Jainaba is passionate about the environment, politics, and women’s rights issues. Most recently, Jainaba facilitated workshops in Kigali, Rwanda, and Baltimore, Maryland entitled Miss In Action. Miss In Action is an initiative Jainaba developed to empower women and young girls. The workshop focuses on building self-esteem, goal setting techniques, and developing leadership skills. Jainaba hopes to one day work on women’s rights issues in developing countries.

Spelman Ambassadors Jainaba Fye and Kandyce Perry worked to incorporate environmental literacy into the Spelman College New Student Orientation to ensure that incoming freshmen for years to come understand Spelman’s commitment to a sustainable future. Watch the video here.
