Mission

Green For All works to build an inclusive green economy strong enough to lift people out of poverty.

Our goal is to make sure people of color have a place and a voice in the climate movement. That our neighborhoods are strong, resilient, and healthy. That as the clean energy economy grows, it brings jobs and opportunity to our communities.

What We Do

Catalyze Action

We seek out the brightest ideas and most innovative solutions and then amplify them. From working with African American churches to bring sustainability to their communities, to helping states charge polluters and invest in people—we’re building a better world, block by block.

Convene Leaders

The most powerful coalitions are made up of unusual allies. Green For All builds bridges and creates partnerships that pack a punch. From environmental allies like 350.org to civil rights groups like NAACP, business leaders like Solar Mosaic and Volt Energy, to pop culture icons like Prince, Drake, and Wiz Khalifa, we bring together leaders from different backgrounds and issues. The result? Idea-sharing, innovation, and creative solutions.

Communicate Solutions

We tap into the genius and solutions that already exist in communities of color and low-income neighborhoods. We make sure that the people who have a stake in decisions on climate change and pollution are part of the conversation. We listen to the ideas and needs of people of color and low-income Americans, and amplify their voices.

Approach

It started with a bang: On April 4, 2008, Green For All hosted The Dream Reborn, a groundbreaking event in Memphis that honored the memory of Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr., by looking at the opportunities in the new green economy to take another step towards his famous dream. More than 1,250 people from diverse communities joined the event—and thousands of new green economy evangelists were born.

Dream Corps

Green for All is a project of Dream Corps, an organization that supports campaigns and initiatives that empower the most vulnerable in our society. We sit at the intersection of technology, entrepreneurship, ecology and social uplift.

Our work stems from three core strengths:

  • Communicating breakthrough ideas and frameworks
  • Catalyzing new efforts and strategic initiatives
  • Connecting across cultures and discipline to build a stronger, more integrated, and more collaborative movement

Dream Corps is the vision of civil rights leader and former advisor to the Obama White House, Van Jones. An activist for more than two decades, Van has fought for social, economic, racial and environmental justice all over the world.
