Marlissa A. Stalling is a rising junior at Spelman College who is originally from the windy city of Chicago, Illinois. As an aspiring student leader, Marlissa chooses to place her voice, passion and concerns within different organizations at Spelman College. For the past two years at Spelman, Marlissa has been involved in the Environmental Task Force, B.ES.T. MOMS (Building, Empowering and Succeeding Teen Moms), A.C.T.S. (Actively Changing Tomorrow through Service), Spelman Ambassadorship and many other organizations. With a major in Environmental Science, Marlissa plans to pursue her dream of being an environmental humanitarian that helps under developed countries that are suffering from environmental degradation, poverty, water and sanitation. She plans to create policies, initiatives and laws that will help these countries transform into environmental friendly and sustainable havens. Since her heart has been with helping children and youth, she also plans to create her own non-profit organization that will cater to helping youth. Through this organization she plans to help youth realize their voice and gifts that are placed over their life. In Marlissa’s down time, she enjoys dancing, stepping, being with family and friends, church and listening to music.
