Clean Air
Every American has a right to breathe clean air. And yet pollution from coal-fired power plants, cars, and other sources is literally choking us. The rate of asthma is climbing as air contamination worsens. And because polluting industries tend to operate in low-income neighborhoods and communities of color, these are the people who bear the brunt of the problem. In fact, African American children have an 80 percent higher rate of asthma than white children.
But we can solve this problem—and create good jobs in the process.
