How do we ensure that the growing green economy benefits all of us, and not just a select few? One of the best ways is to encourage agencies and businesses to take the “high road” – to make sure that economic development projects really end up benefiting people in local communities. High Road Standards ensure that green projects—like city energy efficiency upgrade programs and stormwater initiatives—create real opportunities for people who need them most.
What We’re Doing
Some highlights from our High Road work include:
- Providing technical assistance to cities who want to create High Road programs such as Community Power Works in Seattle and Clean Energy Works Oregon.
- Connecting industry leaders to share and amplify efforts through our Communities of Practice program
